You Are Generation Alpha Digital A.I. Clone #1 seeks to embody and fulfill synthetic media’s goal to mislead people by changing the original meaning of something. This goal manifests formally on the surface level in that what begins as an energetic and dynamic piece of “cartoon music” becomes a long-drawn-out static drone.

 

On a deeper level, the identity of the performer’s voice changes and causes the original meaning of the individual's voice to be called into question. The idea of deep fake voices lends itself well to the aural and visual illusions that are possible in a concert music context with electronics. This led to creating a voice clone of the performer through the open access software, Resemble AI. The cloned voice allows for a situation where the aural and visual illusions created by obscuring the difference between the performer’s voice and the dead synthetic voice extremely uncanny, especially for the performer.
